LAVA director, Jason Leigh Delivers Keynote Speech at Electronic Imaging 2018

Professor Jason Leigh, director of the Laboratory for Advanced Visualization and Applications (LAVA) delivers the keynote talk at the Engineering Reality of Virtual Reality conference at the Society for Imaging Science and Technology’s Electronic Imaging 2018 conference in San Francisco.

The talk “Surfing the Wave of VR in my CyberCANOE” introduced audiences to the cutting edge Virtual Reality research and applications being developed at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Professor Leigh is a pioneer of Virtual Reality, having worked in the field since 1991 at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is best known for his work in the Scalable Adaptive Graphics Environment and its successor the Scalable Amplified Group Environment, and the CAVE2 – Hybrid Reality Environment- for which he received a patent in 2017.
