Kim Binsted invited to speak WLSTE+10
ICS professor, Kim Binsted, has been invited to speak at the 10th annual meeting of the International Conference on Women Leaders in Science, Technology and Engineering (WLSTE+10). The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) in collaboration with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the U.S. Department of State (DOS), hosts WLSTE+10 in the State of Kuwait on 23-25 October, 2017.
The conference aims are to:
- Celebrate and reflect on 10 years of progress toward advancing women in STI.
- Engage early-career women in STI through strong networking and mentoring opportunities.
- Identify barriers to the advancement of women in STI and generate context-specific solutions.
- Identify tools for motivating and empowering women in their early career choices.
Dr. Binsted is the Principal Investigator for the NASA-funded HI-SEAS (Hawaii Space Exploration Analog and Simulation) program, which conducts long-duration space exploration simulations at an isolated habitat on Mauna Loa.
